Duties

  • Cash is collected daily from the cashiers at various cash counters in accordance with the HIS report.
  • The preparation of invoices and receipts for the cheques/cash received from the patient and insurance/corporate companies.
  • Received cash and checks from patients and communicated with the accountant regarding currency and IOUs on a daily basis.
  • Compile and analyze financial data to generate entries for general ledger accounts and to record business transactions.
  • Matching of bills (i.e., receiving cheques from insurance companies, reconciling the amount of each bill resolved, addressing pending claims, and contacting insurance companies). (Accounts Assistant – Resubmissions and Receivables).
  • Generate invoices and bills and distribute them to consumers through a variety of methods, including mail and email.
  • Greet patients/clients, ensure the security of visits, and direct them to the appropriate individual/department. Provide routine information about the facility as needed.
  • Manage phone calls from patients and other individuals; screen calls to determine the nature and urgency of the inquiry; refer callers as necessary and/or arrange appointments.
  • Patient enrollment in the hospital information system.
  • Engage in the hospital’s training programs.
  • Verify the accuracy of the final statement by verifying the data submitted in the accounting system (HIS).
  • Periodically or as needed, the issuer provides client account statements.
  • Remind customers to make payments and contact them when they are assigned.
  • The department’s services are perpetually improved by addressing complaints in a professional, structured, and timely manner that is fair, courteous, and respectful of privacy. This approach is used to identify problematic areas.
  • Maintaining strict adherence to the confidentiality agreement, the individual agrees not to inappropriately access, disclose, copy, remove, use, or provide any person or organization with information related to the hospital that the hospital has designated in writing as confidential or that a reasonable person would consider confidential, except in accordance with hospital duties and with the hospital’s specific prior written authorization.
  • Additional responsibilities assigned by the Head of Department, subject to the employee’s capacity and designation, as well as business requirements.

EDUCATION

  • A bachelor’s degree in commerce from an accredited college or university, with a concentration in accounting, auditing, or a closely related discipline.

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of three years of experience in professional accounting and fiscal control work in a hospital or related public agency, with roughly two years of that experience in an administrative capacity.
